If I ever become an all-powerful being of pure light, the first thing I do will be to permanently destroy the "Hillbilly banjo player in the talent show" youtube video that is always at the top of any banjo-related recommendation or automatically generated playlist.

While I'm at it, I will also destroy whoever is responsible for the algorithm that ensures I have to see the words "Hillbilly banjo player in the talent show" every time I go to youtube

This is the single greatest triumph of technology over itself, boost if you agree.

Meanwhile, in definitely-not-old-banjo-music news, last night I picked up my strat for the first time in ages and fooled around in Loopy HD to try and come up with something for noisevember.

Loopy is a nice and very powerful app but not as intuitive as it seems to think it is (would it kill them to write a manual?) and although I supposedly had 'record' on for a session I was pretty happy with, nothing actually got saved so it was flip-the-table-and-stomp-away time.

Maybe this weekend.

Friday night is probably not the optimal time to post new content

I wonder what the guy who hooted like a howler monkey at the first few notes of the live recording of Layla thinks about his dumbass legacy

I just drove in from the gun show, and boy are my tires armed.

#noisevember - I must give partial credit to @Eidon, because I used the software he wrote to create a combinatorially generative piece. I cut two slivers from this piece and used them as a backdrop for everything else.
